Shot at a bird with my .17. Heard a ting and missed. Oh oh. It went it the creek bout two seconds later... Glad I heard it ... Had heaps rounds through it but ummm no ..
The round had hit at the exit point very slightly and the hole was oval after that. It had not come loose or anything.. Rattled when shaken so was I .
You live (hopefully) and learn . Starting someplace is better than not starting but at least now I know where to ask so you are couple of steps ahead at the beginning !!!
There's lots out there so much better.. Got a few gunworks and DPT now way better..

Bought one for my .223 and it works well, when it falls apart you will hear about it, but until then $ well spent.

ive had a manders unit on my old .22 for 25+yrs now and as far as Im concerned its the fucking bees knees. 1000s of subs through it-quieter than my airrifle and ive even euthanised the kids pets in the backyard with noone the wiser.
.303 &7.62x39share a GC one which involved a few shennanigans but thats another story.
