Thread: Anyone imported / bought from TRACT Australia ?

Looking for feedback on NZ costs, whether you did or did not pay the Aussie GST on the list price -given we don't live in Australia, so shouldn't be subject to such, was then NZ GST added to that, and whether you got stung on the Customs Duty.

I've approached TRACT and Jon who seems to operate from the US is oblivious of the GST / tax thing given we're in NZ, vs dropping the Aussie GST, let alone the NZ Duty adding to the sum...

Nah. Havent bought anything through the Aus agent. All from the US. No GST if under $1K.

I brought a toric from the aussie supplier a month or two back for around $1150au. By the time i got it, taking into account exchange rate, nz custom fees (gst etc) it was around $1600nz to my door. Awesome scope with beautiful glass, but that extra 300 bucks at customs certainly put a dampner on things. In hind sight I should have got it sent to mates in oz and got them to send it over as a gift or something (may have saved some money?). Happy with the scope at the end of the day, and good service from tract.

Exactly what I was looking for.
Either way we get gouged GST twice, once on Aussie then NZ added on top.

For me same experience as Rotto.
Paid de gst. I am happy with the scope.

Bought a Tekoa 4-16 last year, great scope, easy transaction, flew through customs. I didn't get hit with Nz GST.

There is a 150$ discount at the moment I think.
