Most legitimate schools don't accept non-US citizens. This is due to ITAR restrictions, for most schools it's just not worth the hassle.

All foriegn students are required to obtain State Department approval for any tactical training. To get approval you need to submit a DSP-83 and pay a $250USD fee.

Some places still do accept students without approval, but both student and trainer run the risk of Federal prosecution.

Training courses in Europe or South Africa don't have this issue.

Maybe times have changed, I went to Universal Shooting Academy at Frostproof, Florida. No extra documentation required, mind you it was straight after the US IPSC Nationals. Me, a Yank and a South African, in our class, over 2 x days.

They had an old Huey helicopter on a trailer, apparently used in floats and parades as well as some comps.
