Correct - by the time you get it opened, it has retracted. But leaves a gouge in the primer, needs quite an effort to break open.

Done all the cleaning, made no difference. Pin was moving freely - and appears straight, though I do note its not straight against the body. Not sure if that's an issue.

Would love to know how to remove the pin, to check against a straight edge.
