    Barnard - convert SM to SMS

    Gidday Guys

    I've gotten a Barnard SM action. Greg at Custom Guns has the knowhow and tooling etc to modify it to take AICS mags, so just like an SMS.

    But I was wondering if anyone has gone a step further and changed the barrel shank area on the SM reciever to be fully "Rem 700" compatible.

    My other thought was to modify it to a Tikka style recoil lug arrangement and leave the barrel shank as is.

    @Jaco Goosen - did you mean the tikka recoil lug was a good idea, or something else?

    Does the SMS action have the internal collar for the barrel to butt to, or is it like a Rem 700?
