If I was going to do something like this I'd make it .50BMG then at least you can do some extreme long range stuff.

Its just a tiny cannon isnt it? Make it a fiddy wit a 40" barrel to make it interesting!

"Floats my boat" on an engineering level but not from a shooting perspective. I like a bit more input.

Its fine as a sport - so long as you accept it has the same has the same relationship to "normal" shooting as F1 does to my commute to work.

Need more skill as an operator to drive a F1, this isnt really a comparison is it?

Different strokes for different folks.
What the little i know about reloading and reading wind is its a real science and some people really get into it.
You could say the the rifles are the excuse for reloading and playing with bullets

It's competitive instrument calibration and I thought it was the most boring thing you could possibly do with a gun, but then someone took boring one step further by filming benchrest
