Thread: Broken range finder

I once was asked by a friend to lend him my very expensive Leica slide projector. Next day he tells me to come and pick it up because it stopped working after only five slides and he was pissed off because all his family were looking forward to an evenings viewing. I could see that they had placed two slides in a slot meant for one and obviously used brute force and ignorance to force the slide mechanism when it jammed. Cost me $280 plus two trip to Aucks and three months waiting for parts etc. this was in 1984. A buck was worth about three times at least from what is now. Mentioned the cost several times to the wrecker and he completely refused to pay.

So now I don't lend anything.
