HS precision Model 7 from H&F. 7mm08 works I am told.

I have a gut feel that this guy is legit, this thread is true to the narrative of the original and the timeline stacks up for the scenario described (ie non shooter trying to navigate the purchase of a rifle for significant other for Christmas, not something you want to leave until December). If not legit, my money says it’s a well thought out inside job.

One rifle that comes to mind.

    Bergara extreme hunter.

    308.

Even without a can on I find them lovely to shoot and I'm not a fan of recoil. Would tick alot of boxes.

    Wilson's outdoors in wanganui have a 260 and a 308 model 7.

There is factory ammo for both unlike 7mm08 which would be my normal middle of the road calibre.

You know there's shortages when there is more 25-06 than 7mm08 factory ammo available on the shelves aye!

If the guy was trolling seems like a weird way to go about it.
Hardly inflammatory stuff asking for rifle suggestions.

@Rock river arms hunter there is a new fluted bolt and barrel version arriving in November in 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor both barrels 18" long.

The 6.5 Creedmoor would be really light recoiling, probably go pretty well with something like Hornady Whitetail ammo up close.

I find it so funny that some of you think this is a troll....I can't get my head around what the purpose of this troll would be or why I would think its funny. If anything doesn't my last post show consistency and prove that this is real?
Is there some kind of sexist thing going on here that buying a rifle for your girlfriend is such an uncommon thing that it must be fake??

Thanks to those who responded, I will try and see if I can get a m7 from Whanganui in the first instance.

For those of you who think this is some kind of troll........LOL

Just get something you've always wanted. If a 500 NE elephant guns too much for her .... well you tried and waste not want not, may as well keep it for yourself.

You know, JR, rifles are a really personal thing. I have good mates who just love rifles that I think are shit and I have no doubt they think my choice in smoke sticks is equally crap. If your woman loves that particular model and brand then as I see it you have just two options:

    1. Buy her what she wants, or;
    2. Give her a voucher/cash so she can buy what she wants.

Even if you think her choice in gear is totally wrong you can only support her decision and endorse her happiness. Happy lady happy life. (Why does that not rhyme?)

....I find it so funny that you are pursuing the same thread debate that you have spent all your previous posts on....
Get her a BBQ or a gun safe - you cannot buy the rifle yourself (and a rifle is really a personal preference item).... I suggest you get your firearms license and go on a hunt with her - then you can get an appreciation of what she may want or need..... Troll may not be the right word; but wannabe seemed a little harsh. You now have 2 threads on the same topic, but don't appear to have actioned either....
