I picked up a cheap 17hmr in a deal, and it has a kilwell huntsman 3-9x40 scope on it. I'm assuming because I've never heard of it, and it looks cheap that it is cheap.
I've been on ACC for 6 months and buying a Leupold is out of the question until I get back to work, so I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this scope and can give me some advice.
I don't want to waste a bunch of ammo plus the $25 range fee on open night zeroing it in just to find out it's junk, when I could look out for a cheap Tasco or something that I know will do the job until I can afford to grab a Leupold or similar down the track.
Or will the Kilwell be as good as a Tasco world class or an old pronghorn or something else I could pick up for a hundred bucks or less?
I'm looking to use this rifle as a camp gun on cats and rabbits out to 150yds
