I've posted this before on the forum but it's changed slightly since then, still a work in progress. My Thompson Contender G1, a classy little takedown single shot in 30-30 I think. Barrel fluted, just fractionally over legal length, mil-spec coated. Swapped the front grip for some carbon fiber tube, I'm working on a carbon tube stock (just a mock up with blue tac currently). I've got a permit for a pistol grip, hopefully that plan will come together. As pictured it's bang on 2.1kg, I think it will break the sub 2kg mark... Who knows, thread an Oceania Defense suppressor on it? Taken plenty of animals with it. Recoil is fine.

    Nice Joel

I'm just about to send 2 x G2 barrels and lugs for test welding.
They will only be 150mm length barrels but fully chambered because I want to see how the barrels cope with the tig welds for straightness and chamber concentricity

Thanks, the G1 is a joy to carry... I'll be looking forward to hearing about your progress with the barrels, you might find yourself a small Contender market! If you figure out a tool-less breakdown let me know!

    Ok @joelhenton
I will put it in my long list of problems to solve.

I have 416 ss for barrel lugs and extractors and some roughed out
I have ss spring steel for the extractor flat spring
I have tracked down ss roll pins

If the weld test results arw possative i will push on with a run of 4 or 5
