Not enough power. Even shoulder shots took a while to get some flops. Neck and head for me.

Better off using a 12 gauge semi.

I dunno, or maybe they realised that cosmetic features don’t make anything any more dangerous. I’m sure they are very aware that pistol grips are now ok.

yeah well....once the rabid press get ahold of the thread and attached photos you can kiss goodbye ANY chance of them being legal for long and once again many sporting arms will get thrown into the net again.....
I saw the same thread elsewhere and had to ask myself if it was posted by a troll or ANTI with intention of cuasing mischeif.....seeing photos really makes me wonder.

Second tranche of prohibitions has been done and dusted and signed off weeks ago even longer. It just hasnt been announced yet.

I learnt something from this thread. Only tacticool military machinegun looking rifles are cool. I'm gonna banish my sako to the back of the gun safe for eternity for fear of being labelled a teatotaller

You misunderstood what I meant. I posted a list of what I believe to be cool rifles. That list is not exhaustive and the fact that a firearm is not on the list does not mean that it isn't cool.
Sakos are very cool, too. They are just cool in a different way. The firearms on this list are all cool in the same specific way, hence why there aren't any Sakos on the list.
We all have our own tastes in firearms, and there are no good or bad, or right or wrong tastes. Firearms are pretty much all cool in some way, shape, or form.
I don't want to give the impression that these are the only cool guns or that I have something against any other types of guns. I like them all.

    No need to be diplomatic.

Everyone knows @Ryan_Songhurst is a bit special. He headbutted a duck (or was it a rooster?) as a kid; got a little bit concussed; and his brain hasn't fully recovered since. It's why he's drawn to lame guns such as Sakos.

Get real, the next lot of amendments coming have nothing to do with what a few dozen people post on this public forum.

Full registration (staged with license renewals), increased vetting restrictions - ie prove why you need a calibre/firearm, shorter license timespan, banning of magnum calibres (50 BMG and 338s), increased user pays/cost recovery and restrictions to pistols (max 10 round mags and no more pistol chassis) have been on the Police wish list long before 15/3/19.
Ducking your head down trying to stay out of the spotlight thinking you will keep your toys is a fantasy.
What’s coming is coming. Just bend over and enjoy it.

Has there been something said officially about pistol mag restrictions?

You realise anything they ban further will have to be bought back? Have they really got the cash for that?

I don't think a second ban/buy back would be as easy to make people swallow tbh.

The first grab happened without any casualties...
Another tragedy would sell it to the public.

I guess technically it wasn't directly connected to the "buy-back", but that Russian guy died in Christchurch.

Also, the "buy-back" may have mostly "happened," but the numbers would suggest that the majority of affected gun owners decided not to take part in it, so "happened" is somewhat relative.
