    yup, thinking about it now, it would depend on the burn rate of the powder as well...

    it is probably worth bearing in mind that cutting the barrel back and possibly depending on the size of the gas port it may affect the dwell time of the gas system and cause you issues.

    Then again it might not be an issue at all, and might even reduce the violence of the standard carbine gas (assuming that is what you're running) system.

    Maybe google stories of people building their own sbr's in the states to see if it could be a problem or not, or maybe PM someone like spanners to see if he has any thoughts based on his experiences before you make the final call.

    I thought there was no "burnt"time with smokeless as its a propellant not a powder, BP burnts?
