    It's a bit of a faff when the animal you're lining up on ducks into cover then you have to de-cock, un-set, re-cock, apply safety, wait for the animal to re-appear, remove safety, re-set, fire. Easier to just keep the chamber empty until ready to shoot.

    Man people are brave on the internet . .. . I have been lucky enough to have hunted with Pommy, including in some very thick scrub, and can safely say he is one of the most disciplined guys I have seen in my hunting years. Despite having a huge number of years of "experience" on him I am pleased to say I learnt a couple of things off him on our hunt together.

    AS an old Mountain safety Instructor I am pleased you can endorse his safety because his postings were scary thank you for the endorsement any one who admits to a firearm that is unsafe as he did well ???
