    The real world difference between 2506 & 270 (and a whole bunch of others) is so minimal you might as well just buy the one that has the prettiest ammo packet.
    100% agree for general hunting you could almost walk into the gunshop and say hay I want a common cal hunting rifle with decent ammo readily get able at a good price and pretty much anything they will sell you including a 223 (though not my 1st choice) with correct shot placement will work a treat
