About LinkBacksDude, grab a .223 and get some of the OSA 55gr game king loads.... you'll be able to use that a whole lot with low cost and learn good habits.
Spend a bit on your scope and learn to read the wind.... turkeys and rabbits are good targets to start with especially at range as you'll need to get it right past 200.
Howa, Tikka and CZ would be my choice in .223
