Wilsons in Wanganui have 3 of these in stock. Smart looking rifles.

Yep about sums it up, they are a nice looking practical rifle.

One thing that annoys be so far, the action Allen screws are different sizes. I have trouble losing Allen keys now I will need two sizes!

Yes all up...think it is more like 6.2 pounds but couldn't get steady reading on wifes kitchen scales. Barrel I haven't measured but don't think much off. You are right though, still a Remington but always wanted. Might get a Forbes too if they are shooters.

You have already put together a pretty awesome rifle. My issue with going down that route was the waiting around for stocks to be made, gun smithing etc.

The selling point to me with the Forbes is its straight from the gun shop, has a limited lifetime warranty and you can shoot the thing straight away.

Will no if it's shooter in due course but will certainly be up to what I'm going to be using it for, e.g inside 300m

Yep same reason I went for an HS - Precision in 7mmRM rather than building one. Pretty happy with it.

    Still the same...

Good rifle and with my swaro z3 3-10x42 with a hash drop reticle it is a pretty good do it all rifle out to 4-500m.
Got a first round hit on a small rock at 690yards using the ballistic reticle with a 130 Barnes which drops like a brick.

Stainless steel seems to mark more than the likes of my tikka, similar to my trueflite barrel I had. Might just be the bead blast finish tho.

Just a good all round rifle
