Thread: Frustration Averted - Good Buggers

Seems fair to share good experiences when I'm sometimes prone to sharing frustrations...

Got a firearm dropped into Dunedin H&F for them to send up to my local store (Napier). Got the Mail Order form completed, the seller did his bit, I paid Dunedin H&F their $60 fee (my local guys don't charge to receive)... and I waited for the call from the local H&F to tell me it had arrived. And I waited, and waited.

Chased them up today, to find that they hadn't heard a dickie from Dunedin. So called Dunedin H&F to discover that one of their team had received the rifle, placed it in a corner of the strong room and forgotten to tell anyone about it. It's been sat there for 10 days already. Whilst it was sat there, the Mail Order form got lost.

Fortunately, the seller had given me a copy of the approved Mail Order form, so was able to send that to Dunedin H&F. They felt sufficiently bad about the experience that they refunded the $60 fee I had paid .

All in all, is just my impatience that has suffered...

That's bizarre, I had a very similar experience a few weeks back with the same store. Firearm was dropped off to them on a Monday, I called them up 10 days later and after a while looking for it they said oh yes here it is, we will get it sent off to you today... Useless gits.

To be fair, they started with a "we are sorry, we'll send that out asap" but when I suggested that they might like to consider making a gesture to accompany the apology - a good bugger called Todd orchestrated a full refund. Can't say fairer than that.

Geez, good thing it wasn't items that require high security and awareness - oh wait...

It's indicating a staff training issue for me, but at least the items were kept secured the entire time the staff were not communicating with each other.

I regularly shop at DunedinH&F store. I have sent and received a bunch of rifles through them, including a couple very recently. Never had any issues, the guys in the firearms dept have always been great to deal with.

Glad they came to the party and acknowledged their stuff up in the above cases.

They didn't apologize, acknowledge or make good in my instance. In fact it didn't leave their store for another couple of days...
