    Good barrel or bad barrel?

    Hi All,

    Keen to hear your guys thoughts on this barrel How would I go about describing it when selling it.

    On trade me=Only fired 25 rounds cleaned eveytime after use.

    A good start would include caliber and where it originally came from

    8x57, where it came from I'll keep to myself for now. It was sold as great/good bore. I love my luck with rifles!

    You should see it in person. The whole barrel is like that. Kinda looks cool. Im wondering how many grains it would shave of a projectile from start to finish! Haha

    I purchased it Hamish, longish story which I may or may not detail in the near future but Long to short version - The guy works on rifles for a living and I asked him to borescope the throat area and report what it was like as he had already said the bore was great/good - but I also asked him to check/mention if there were any bad bits in the barrel. He said he didn't have a borescope to check the throat area but it look good by torch and the the rifling was deep and sharp. So I was quite surprised when I got the rifle and saw the condition the barrel was in.

    I'm starting to think I'm not specific enough when asking questions about rifles?

    Wow. I only just looked at the photos on a device bigger than my phone. Those craters are huge. I'd be surprised if a 8mm pill didn't just fall through from one end to the other. Nice crown job too

    Very true, but I get the feeling Kiwijames has hit the nail on the head on how it would shoot. Plus - why would I now waste $$ on ammo for it? I'm just stoked that I didn't end up buying reloading dies and projectiles for like I was going to. I did buy some powder though. I'll find another caliber thats suitable for that though.

    Just expand the neck up to .35 that should seal everything
