The best silencer I recon is the silent kill ones , although the hose clamp looks like shit. You can get them quite cheap.
Is it this one Toby ? Outdoor Outfitters Silencer Rimfire 22CAL Economy *Choose Colour*
Beware you can only shoot sub's through it ,goes ok for the price though , light weight ,and decent suppression for money..
Think I got one lying around here somewhere if your interested ?
How much are ya looking at for it?
Spend $100 on a quality suppressor
That'd be fine if I had 100 to spend on one. I have a killwell one and it works fine but is on the semi
Wat if I want to use both guns.
Sorted now anyway.
I had one but I upgraded, it is ok but I would spend the money on something better
Anything will suppress a 22. all thats needed is a little expansion area and not much at that.
DPTs modular suppressors are $100 and do supersonics.
Hi I'm new to the forum.. I brought a 10/22 from gun city 3weeks ago and it came with a suppressor.. Iv been shooting Winchester 40gr subs in it and it was really quite.. Today I pulled the ruger a part to clean and put in a bolt buffer in.. And shot a couple of cheap Winchester 555 high velocities though it with the silencer on.. I took the silencer off and a pill of metal shards feel out.. Don't know if the metal is from the bullet or if probably fucked the suppressor haha
Haha yeah I just read what seano said. When I was a gun city this morning the guy was saying it should be sweet to shoot HV through it.. Gues not.. Would the suppressor still be fine do you know? Don't really want the metal down the barrel and ruining it.
Pull it apart and have a look where it came from. Should be 2-3 springs and 3-4 washers
The one that came on my jw is tiny plastic had couple thou of hv threw it and is still quiet as with subs.
No baffles or washers.

Thats alot of shit. Only just got mine its springs and washers. I cleaned the killwell one once just soaking the bits in brake cleaner
2nd pic looks like some mason bees have had there nest shot up haha
Yeah. Well I thought it was! 50m I was getting good groupings.. But I then went on to shoot from 75,100,150m.. But I was shooting those distances with out the silencer.. But yeah beats me. Ill have to have a look next time I go shooting and see if it fills up again.. Would it be worth risking using the silencer if its not aligned properly?

Here's a better look of the inside
Did you buy it new?
Look for any damage where the bullet passes or put it back on the barrel and look through to see if anything is in the way. Or a cleaning rod or something
Yeah doesn't look like there's any damage so ill just wait and see.. But yeah it was band new from gun city it came with the rifle..
Here's mine

Like this thomas, lock open the action put a white bit of cardboard or paper there and shine a light into it, should make it easy to see when you look down the barrel if anything is in the way.

I never had any problems putting HV ammo through my spring+washer MAE one. Didn't try hypers though, thought that might be pushing things a bit far.
yes and no, I have had not bits come out of it but I can not get it open at the moment to give it a good clean. It still is working fine and the rabbits can not tell any different so if it's not broken down mess with it
Soo just took the 10/22 out and put about 150 rounds through it.. Should my silencer be this dirty? It was spotless before I used it
Are they shavings of metal or carbon build up?
