Here is my newly finished DMPS AR 308, started out life as a DPMS Oracle but I couldn't leave it stock. Hope to shoot it this weekend.

Picked up a lefty Remington 788 in 308 from trademe.

Action is smooth and bore looks good. Very minor surface rust around the scope bases. action and barrel needs to be re-blued or painted, and the stock needs some cosmetic work, but overall I think it was a great deal.

Serial no starts with 61, so good chance it was made in the late 60s, just like me !

Can't wait to start the restoration

Looks like a nice gun and a real shottie too with only 2 round mag!!!!

There is nothing Gay about a 20g, I have one and I also have 28g adapters for it does that make me "uber gay"??

I have beaten 12g users at clays with it quite often. After you get used to it you with wonder why everyone bothers with heavy old 12g's that feel like you are swinging a concrete post, nuff said

I was planning on a 12g U/O for pigeons/ pheasants and was looking at the Yildiz spz me but after seeing Pointers 20g I thought about it a bit and it'll do for pigeons and pheasants. and adds a new cal to the cupboard.

I still like my 12g but this guns ok, just done tried its full choke out. Shot the same target which wasn't the best idea, first one at 30m then second at 20m. also noticed I'm not right on the mark although I could of steadied it a bit better. Should of tried to snap shoot it and see where I hit that would have been a good idea might do that later.

Thats ok tobes, means you won't have to lead em so much when they going left to right

Try different ammo and different chokes to tune it, may find you can sort it!
