My latest acquisition on trial. Something different, a Sako finnwolf lever action in .243 topped with a Zeiss 3-9

Not sure if I'm 100% happy with it yet or not, but will rack a few shots through it tomorrow and then take it for a look for a deer in the evening. See how it goes.

Yeah that's what I was hoping, but it's quite long eh. Could do with 3-4 inches lopped off the barrel. It is 40 odd years old though...

A few months ago I read that lever action Sako's are extremely rare and worth a large amount of money. It might pay to get it valued properly before you modify it.

    Nooooooooooo!
If you really have to do it take the factory barrel off and put a short one on, might as well go 338 fed while your at it for a bush gun.

    Tongue in cheek mate.

They're rare but not as rare as one would think. Well I've seen a few pop up on trade me over the last year or so anyways. A minter might be worth a bit, a very tidy one all original sold for 1200 not long ago, but this has an aftermarket stock and had been reblued etc, so is probably only worth about a grand.
