It arrived today. Got it in 308. Ammos cheap and easily found. Slapped my spare 3-9x40 Zeiss on it. It'll be my new everyday walkabout rifle.
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.

During the Angolan bush war the SAF troops regularly got hold of captured RPG's. None of the local cows or donkeys were safe

The other form of entertainment was shooting white phos grenades into "dongas" - shallow depressions that had filled with water in the rainy season.

Give bored young guys enough firepower and explosives and they will always end up causing chaos

(I am sure Tentman won't mind me posting this here. It's his work. I am just the caretaker of it now.)

.257 Roberts Walther barrel on a VZ33 Mauser action by Alan Carr. Stock by Goeff Slee. It has a Satterly safety, (like a Winchester 70 safety but on the left side of the action; where your thumb is.) I must mention that it has a great trigger. I was told what trigger it was but I can't remember now. It looks better in person.

How does it shoot, you may ask? It shoots very well.

Not really but need to decipher all the writing on the case, the case shown is not the original, definitely ex India, will run the serial numbers past Joseph Lang when I get time, hope to load some ammo this week and clean the barrels with it next week end, 110 grains FFG, or some safe nitro load, have to work out a loading procedure.

Bit light for elephants, mainly softer skinned lions, tigers, etc. Ill video the second shot, if im still standing, theres also another smaller gun there, suited to deer and smaller game.

Mac you never cease to amaze us. Old shitter for an old shit.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
