Wait.... you have to get certified to use a holster on the range and handgun hunting is only approved on land that you own if you designate it handgun range?

Technically. The only time you are allowed legally to have your hand guns on you is on the way to the range, your house and a gun smith or dealer.

It has to be police certified so lots of hoops to jump through too.

So you can carry your pistol in a holster on the way to the range, gunsmith, or home? Or do you mean it can be securely incased in a travel container like a zipper pouches or lockable hard case?

Hell, I carried my Glock 22 Gen 4 and my buddy carried his SA 1911 National Match openly while we were at the local Waffle House in Thomasville, Georgia.

I always have a pistol on me when hunting. Hogs are mean jerks and sometimes a pistol is needed. Had to put a hog down or two with a pistol.

Locked case and only to range, gunsmith or to the arms officer.

    I keep a S&W Model 669 as a truck gun.

    Always rides in my truck.

Wife has a S&W Model 642 in her car on a 24/7 basis.

That is what we carry. That rotates daily.

Quite glad I live in Florida. Don't need no permit to own and don't have to register anything. Keeping a gun in the car is just as legal as having one in the house.

I have a few toys that I think some folks here would like to have. But hey.... I'm a member on this forum for a reason. It isn't so I can hog how awesome I have it. It is more so I can share and learn at the same time.

Miami, no offence mate but can you please stop posting photo's of your "Personal defense weapons" whether it's vehicle or house related.

We have very different laws & needs for firearms in this country & while as stated there are areas in NZ ( as in every other country in the World ) people will carry "personal protection" devices of varying degrees, it's highly illegal to carry any firearm for such purpose here & we have very strict laws in regards to owing a pistol.

This is an "Animal" hunting & target shooting forum & that's what 95% + of the post on here relate to.

PS- And before you guys on here that love his posts jump down my throat, I will remind you that it's not just firearm enthusiasts that watch'n'read this forum & owning a firearm / firearm licence in NZ is a privilege not a right.

If you Google the name Miami_JBT pages of different forums that he is bombing with this stuff comes up. I counted over 20 different forums and gave up. RSA, Ireland, all over.
I can tolerate normal participation about anything, but this is NRA zealot stuff.

People own guns other than hunting and target shooting. I own guns for all matter of reasons. Self Defense, hunting, collecting, plinking, etc....

Disagree. It's a hunting and shooting forum. It says so in the title. Nothing about target shooting specifically.

Maybe just pass on by if you are offended? This is a hunting and SHOOING forum. Everyone can see his location being outside NZ so not breaking any laws here. The anti's will still be anti. I don't see the difference between the guns Miami_JBT owns and the same ones owned by people here, they look the same. Maybe you would like to make a list of what type of guns people can/can't post here?

BTW the US is by no means the only place where you are permitted to carry/use a gun self defense. We are just lucky that home invasions, kidnap, street muggings etc are rare here so don't need one.

    But it is a right.
    our legislation is "Shall issue"

the privilege is the practising of a right.

My brother, this thread is titled "Gun Porn". Now I get it that you are proud of your pistol and love to show it to us. I am not offended as other members about you showing the way you carry it. I just want to point out that you should take a better image of any gun you wish to show off. I thought that was the point of this thread, to be visually pleased.
