375 Ruger had it for a few months now, a whole lotta grunt in a small package. Haven't had the chance to take a deer with it but the two goats I shot last week had a really bad day.

Reloading mate, a packet of Hornady DG series is $130. I am just running Hornady 270gr sprp over 83.5grs of 2209. Shooting pretty well at 100m. Pitty about the flyer, stll around .8 from memory.

Nice got to love the bigger calibers, I still have factory sitting here as well. I have yet to chronograph either loads.
Tahr I respect your viewpoint - it is a noble desire to want peace. I think we all do.
Peace as a concept, does not exist. It is temporary. Peace doesn't come naturally - it is enforced, one of my favourite sayings is "Si vis pacem, para bellum (If you desire peace, prepare for war).
Accordingly one should the need arise, be prepared to defend themselves and their peers from the next disruption of peace.
New Zealand is very lucky in that it is the most geographically isolated country of any significance on earth. Untouched by any war except domestic conflicts. Any country wanting to conquer New Zealand would need to project and sustain forces over large distances - and control Australia first.
It won't last forever. In a world of depleting resources and expanding population growth and requirements for resources, New Zealand will be, I feel - the last untapped resource. I think a sense of preparedness would hold us in good stead.
While I agree the
Forum seems to taken the turn for the worst lately with all this body armour and Bullshit getting posted.
Tahr has some very valid points.
Go join snipers hide if that's your thing.
We hunt animals and shoot targets.
Let's keep this place tidy for those rainy days.

I didn't mean to direct it solely at those two, it's just I could only see those two names at the top of the page.
I agree with your observations.
