I suppose, I understand @gadgetman is travelling up from Chch in a van? If he had room for a 6'6" lanky bastard and his .338 I could always fly up to Chch and go from there. Happy to contribute to gas money and shit banter.
Ironically yeah I've owned a tikka ;) definitely not my favorite rifle (Still a great one for the money) But I was more talkinng about my ruger .308 M77 with the Boyds thumbhole stock, bipod, Suppressor,etc about 3-4 pages ago :D I have to admit though... I am rather jealous of his :yaeh am not durnk:
It is a fantastic rifle. If one compares the rotating bolt of the AK to the SIG in their hand, the quality of the machining is immediately evident in the SIG. The materials and production methods used to manufacture it and the testing of each rifle are beyond reproach. It is heavy-ish for a 5.56 rifle but that aspect is of no concern to me. The trigger is very smooth and precise. There's an initial slack, take up and then once the trigger makes contact with the trigger plunger it's a very tactile sensation.
The operator knows that once he exerts 3.5lb of pressure (I've a lighter trigger installed), the sear will release and a round can never come back. The magazines being able to be stacked together is also a very useful feature in its intended role.
It's a fine rifle but I can't quite bring myself to call it my favourite. I'd have to say that the Steyr AUG is the favourite out of my collection. Ergonomically it really suits me and I find it to be more accurate than the SIG and I've have had hands more accurate than mine handle it (the SIG).
The SIG has a 1:7 twist rate (as indicated by the SP2) and my Steyr has a 1:9.
First things first, I know I'm not the first guy to chuck one of these up, but hey...sharing is caring;
For those of you that read my introduction the other day, this is the 7mm08 T3 with the MDT LSS chassis. Can't remember the brand of the stock off the top of my head, but it's about $150 cheaper, and lighter than the go to that most are using if they aren't using the collapsible version. Works well. Scope is Sightronlll 3.5-10x44, only thing I am worried about is the mvt of the turrets if I do travel through some bush, however I am sure this is combatable through simple checks prior to shooting (close range shouldn't be an issue, one guy suggested to chuck a red dot on the side, or iron sights...kinda lol'd...but then I was like, that could be a good idea) I have asked Sightron about the possibility of getting some of their 2016 lockables (I know... It's a long shot...but better to try) Barrel is still the light 19inch with a GW Spartan Suppressor, yes I know it's a lower tier and is far from what I want, but it will do for now. Load development starts in the next couple of weeks.

Hey James,
Yeah bro, thought it would be a good chance to improve on hunting/shooting knowledge and share some yarns. Good crowd.
Always open to new advice and some top tips.
How's the new shooter going?
That is nice rear stock, where did you get it from?
