Just to put things in perspective,a basic new lathe to start barrel work is around 8k.
A descent size lathe like the one we use everyday is now very close to 40k.
A reamer with its set of gauges is close to $nz500 landed.
So being able to chamber the 5 or 6 most popular cartridges, plus a few exotics, a range of 10 to 15 pilots per calibre, all the indicating tools, lathe tools ,measuring tools indicators…etc you come very close to 6k to 8k.
And if you start chambering more than 150 barrels a year ,you are looking at investing into a cnc lathe . That is what a lot outfits are doing now in the USA.
And you need to be able to pay your tax and put food on the table as well.
Kelton and 20 Bore like this.

The last three HSS reamers I have received were $650-680 NZ dollars each & take 3-4 months

The one on the way will be around $725 given the current exchange rate.....

That is the reamer only, no gages required as I already had them & they aren't cheap either
Contact me for reloading components, brass, projectiles, powder, primers, etc

I probably should have pointed out the price was with me supplying my own reamer
