Tikka and Sako would be the most common hunting rifles in NZ, and Tikkas especially popular for rebarrelling.

Minimum price for a contoured barrel blank in nz is around the $1000 mark.
These guys could be an option for cheaper but the quality and accuracy might not always be there.

I’ve got a project x. My advice is to spend your money on a reputable custom action and build from there. My PX had feeding, extraction issues, pressure issues and a serious/dangerous chassis fitment problem. Admittedly they did fix all these things but doesn’t fill you with confidence.
Beyond this the 3 piece aluminium bolt is crap and wears quickly, a tikka feels like heaven compared to the PX action.
