Help identifying the maker of a rifle

Been down to Wellington with a mate to the antique arms auction
And I picked up a very nice piece of wood and steel
What i do know is it’s a martini express rifle in 450 no1 express

In good shootable condition with a nice bore for age
But sadly externally its been rusty at some point
And the ingraveing is obscured by light pitting
I can make out the serial which is nice considering

And I can make out “martini patient”
But the actual makers names and crest are obscured

I can make out (quite large on the frame ) 2 crossed flags inside a circle

    Any ideas what it is

Could it be a British army acceptance mark showing the crossed pennons?

There were various English makers of Martini sporting rifles and the only foreign maker to follow the traditional English style was Francotte of Belgium. If you remove the fore-end you should photograph the proof marks and post the pictures.

    Greetings All,
What a neat old rifle. I see that cases are available in the US, made from 50-90 Sharps brass apparently. 110 grains of black powder, you can have the first shot.

    @grandpamac
They can be made from almost anything based on a 500 case id imagine 50-90 to be a bit short
Inless they are useing a case strecher

I plan to use 500-450 nitro express cases (just coz there happened to be some on trademe when I was looking on the way home from Wellington according to @akaroa1 who is my 1st point of contact on these questions
They will just need to be shortened slightly and the shoulder shifted back

    450 no2 musket
    450 no 1 express
    500 3” (500 nitro express case)
470 nitro express (very similar to the 450-500ne cases i have brought to convert)
