    Thanks for asking, Matthias.

It's quite long for a "mini" action.

Almost as long as a Sako A1, except for a 22lr, not many other action come to my mind. The zastava mini Mauser is pretty mush the same as well.

The Grendel in one of these stocks and the flush bottom metal looks to be the perfect lightweight bush gun to me.

7.62x39 punches above its weight as well I have found,if I didn’t already have a.308 I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one of these.

I currently have one modeled in Solidworks.. for a lightweight chassis project, 171.5mm is the exact measurement of holes center to center.

    The Vixen A1 (6mm PPC) is about 160mm and the 85 S (7mm08) about 184mm.
Difficult to measure exactly with the trigger guard in the way.

You're thinking the same as me I guess. Ken said any gunsmith should be able to inlet for the A1, though you would need to jig for it. If he could get an inletting file for the CNC to suit the Sako, I'd imagine he could do it.

So..... does this mean that for the money, the howa-ken combo surpasses the likes of the Kimber montana as the cost effective lightweight?

    Action weight 1633g
    Stock weight ~ 600g stated
    2233g bare.

    $1820

    Yeh?
Now 55six just needs to sort the import for the Jefferson bottom metal and we are there. But it likely pushes it over ~$2100
Add rings and low weight scope and you get to 2.6kg scoped pretty easily.
