Weight issues aside,I still prefer the old versions of the ar 10.Nothing fits the new small frame ones,Try finding a charging handle for one.Stocks and buffer weights have to be modified and no one has any real world knowledge of them despite claiming to be experts on the matter.

Somebody needs to develop the new platform properly. The old gen 1 platform is gross. They are large and heavy and it isn't uncommon to find them fraught with gas issues.

Never had a issue with the three I have owned.I am sure the gen 2 is developed properly but trying to find aftermarket parts and then trying to meet our rules and regs with stocks for a or e cat is a pain in the arse.My older rifles are far more accurate than the gen 2 I have now.
