    high power air guns

Anyone into airguns ? I have been looking at buying one for fun Hatsan BT65SB .25 CAL 1090 FPS -thats one powerful unit .
The only pain with the precharge is the precharging units you have to carry around if shooting alot .

I have heard of guys shooting hogs with these things and one does need an A cat firearms license .

Who has experience with these toys

    HATSAN ARMS COMPANY

If you are looking for something with a bit more pedigree and accuracy checkout the Edguns.
NZ Agent here: Airborne Arms Co.

He also stocks the SWFA scopes.

Have a look on u tube at the 375 45 and 50 cal pcn air rifles.

They have taken big dangerous game with them like bear and buff but i imagine they would have a more suitable "stopping" rifle on hand as well.

Have a FX Typhoon in .22, it's a PCP with a 12 shot magazine, fills to 300 bar via 12l dive tank, will generally go through 36 shots before a noticeable drop off in power and accuracy. The main difference for shooting with an air rifle is that you're going to spend more time making sure you take the perfect shot. But the advantage to an air rifle is the velocity and energy drop off over distance, so it's quite handy to use near roads, on golf courses, etc. A few years ago I used it inside a veggie greenhouse and no broken glass. I use it solely for target shooting now.

Try swinging by Youngs Air Guns on Dominion Rd and see what he has in stock - there's a few things on the wall he doesn't list on the web site.

Back in the day of nzairgunners.com there was a thread about goat hunting near Wanganui, loads of pix and tips. So some people do use air guns, for a variety of reasons.
