    So yeah if anyone's curios it's legal as long as I don't try and sell it and it has to have a serial number inscribed on it for the future register. Also apparently it can't at any time be in a fireable state when it isn't entirely A-Cat legal, so like it can't be functional if it isn't of legal length yet and all that.

    Which doesn't make all that much sense because a gun is in a functional state even with it's barrel taken off but who am I to question my AO overlord.

    And the usual "can't be converted into an MSSA" yada yada.

    Sorry, but that is complete bullshit. Your AO is giving you info based on the Police's wish list, not what is actually law. No surprises there.

    If (and when) the 2nd tranche passed, the cops are going to have to come up with solutions for many, many firearms out there that simply do not have serial numbers.

    If I took the barrels off my rifles, I’m not sure they’d be able to fire a round, let alone hold a cartridge against the boltface/firing pin?
