    Howa 1500 .308

I was looking at my local h&f today and i came across one of them for $999 with a nikko stirling diamond scope and has been threaded. How is howa for out of the box accuracy and reliability, Does anyone have one and what do you have to say about them. Cheers

The ones I've had anything to do with, the reliability and accuracy with the right load have been all good.
Is it Stainless or Blued for that price.?
Also are you firm on the 308 caliber?

Have the ones you used had holes drilled in the bolt body?

Going by my Weatherby Vangaurd (Howa), for a budget priced rifle I was pleasantly surprised. Trigger is a bit creepy. Seams to be lots of pimps out there. If I was going to get another I'd get it in stainless though.

Ahh i see. I just like stainless as quite a few of my rifles get rusty pretty quick which gets pretty annoying.

True, if you leave you bolt on the ground! If you do get shit in there just take the firing pin out, it's a 2 second job on a Howa / vanguard

As for Howa's they are great, just a bit on the "fat" side.

Yeah i do clean them everytime i use them but i leave them in the safe for long periods and the rust likes to get it the hard to reach places which annoys me.
