Thread: Identify this Husqvarna for registration

The action is a 1600/1640 action, 1600 being for the shorter barrels. So yours is a 1640 cos its got a longer barrel [even tho its a replacement], the serial numbers were stamped just forward of the action on the barrel. The stock looks like it may well be a Husqvarna stock, the top end model that we rarely see here. Your bolt should have the last 4 digits of your serial number engraved on the underside of the bolt, often difficult to see, but give it a light polish and then rub a dirty finger over it. If it was mine I'd be saying its a Husqvarna 1640, serial number XXXX off your bolt, 30-06, 4 shot internal mag.
Or have a local gunsmith engrave some random number on the barrel for a serial number, left side, just forward of the action, just above the stock line. Or use the random number under the action.
