Is it that bad from every country or just from America
Its a relatively simple process it just costs time & $$$ usually a little more than expected...

Its as simple as US price, plus export permit & fees, $250-500+ USD & then freight USD & then multiplied by the current exchange rate, then importers margin & then brokers fees & then customs fees & then gst....it just adds up & up & up & ........ assuming you can get an import permit & find someone Stateside who is keen enough to do the legwork & send it to you.....

I looked at bringing my rifles over when I emigrated from the UK and it was cheaper to flog em and buy new ones here.
Theres an auctioneers called Holts and they recommended an exporter and Im still waiting for him to reply.
    Its a closed shop

I was thinking about importing a firearm from a private dealer off of gunbroker.com however a FFL is required and they say that they don't do international shipments, at the same time I found this site JOHNSON FIREARMS, Inc - Export / Import that I thought might be of use, but I'm not sure how the process works apart from requiring an import permit etc etc. Could anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

I got to a point that when I don't find parts here, I will make them by myself by either printing it and later casting or even machining small parts.

Mainly its America which is the hardest & most costly to export from , mainly due to the cost of having a FFL export licence , this is a additional licence , over a normal FFL ( US dealers licence ) , this cost went sky high a few yrs ago , and the impact was , alot of small FFL Exporters decided it was too expensive to carry on , so you went from having hundreds of FFL Export agents ( that where very cheap to use ) , to a very small number of very expensive FFL Export agents that you have to use now .
