Issues with the magnets of bino carry packs and the gps/ compass

    Hi,
I recently acquired one of those front pouch for my binos and also to old my gps and other stuff.
I got a hunter element but I think the problem is similar with other brands that are using magnets.

It completely stuff up the compass inside gps and the needle on a compass.
    As anyone else noticed that?
Try it for yourself, bring a compass close to your pouch and you will see what I am talking about.

What solution have you found to alleviate the problem? I am thinking about removing those magnets and maybe fitting a piece of Velcro.

Spartan bipods and others that use magnetic catches can cause the same issue. Holding a rifle too close to a compass also buggers the reading up.
You just have to be aware of it, I always put my rifle down to use either, an old habit but it seems to work. I think the velcro is an excellent idea those velcro self adhesive dots might be the answer.

I've done a bit of keyhole surgery on my phone case and range finder case to extract the magnets. Daft idea using those; obviously not conceived by a hunter.
I think velcro would be a bit noisy so havent done anything and the covers just flap freely now.

Hook and stretch cord ala Alaska Guide Creations bino pouches. Quiet, and no magnets.

Had same issue with Bushbuck bino holder. Really annoying for a hunting bino holder to have magnet.
Also magnets on some backpacks for holding hydration tube.
