I have had a play with a two or three now & you are so right they are mushy at best.

Hopefully L.Rs suggestion works for you.

Is that an issue as long as it dials accurately and repeatably ?

I can't count so still have to look at the numbers so wouldn't matter to me if it didn't click at all

When you are shooting at 1000yards 1/4moa can be the difference between a hit and a miss, so it is important to know the turret is in its correct position not just near enough.

It is important that there is a positive "click" & the dial stops with very little or no play in the correct position so you know exactly were it is, not just around about there ish....

Thanks for showing us this LR. I haven't been able to find any specs for it online. Can you tell us length, weight, reticle subtensions or anything ?

    350mm long and 582g (20.5oz).

Both LR's and mine are duplex reticles so no hash marks etc.

Even the documentation that comes with them is pretty vague.

Mounting area on the tube is very limited as well with only 30mm or so of tube forward of the turret assembly before flaring out to the objective lens.

    So.....

Need to remove the ocular eyebrow protector rubber ring to fit Alumina caps

Mushy elevation and windage dial clicks

Very limited forward tube mounting area

Fairly obvious design flaws if thats the case.

Do they get a Big thumbs down ???

Having to remove the rubber ring is no issue as far as I can see.

The CDS turret makes a big difference to the way the standard turrets feel but they still aren't what I would call amazing. Call them good with the CDS installed.

The limited mounting space forward of the turret housing is really only an issue if your scope mounting setup has limited adjustment like my Blaser for example. If you're running a rail you should be sweet.

They get a pass as far as I'm concerned right now but it will be interesting to see what the retail price in NZ will be.

Anyone had a CDS turret fitted to a VX 6 yet, and are you happy with it ?

I had a play with one in Auckland.

I didnt find the clicks to be very bad these where quite positive and had a good click to them.
Down side was that they turned quite easy unlike my new s3 that is much harder to turn.

This was with the normal turrets

Have you had a chance to compare quality of the lens in low light - I've found the older VX3 not that good compared to a Sightron S111.

Duelly made no mention of mushy clicks in his review but did say it tracked repeatably.

He did say they had 1/4 of a click backlash.......

That to me is a polite way of saying it is mushy........
