    Lost scope...now what

This saga has been going months. Aussie carrier lost my scope and today got the message below. Scope is $3k, compensation so far $547. They didnt insure it and didn't give me the option to either. Bloody weird they never invoiced me before 'sending'.... did they pick up and pocket it? Do I need to engage a lawyer in Brisbane to pursue compensation....bloody mongrels.

    "Bob,

Please stop with the e-mails to Airmenzies the claim is to us.

We both know I shouldn’t have taken the job and I’m sorry for the delay.

If the claim result was available you would be the first to know.

We are not in the business of saying stuff you and I’m sorry you're not happy with the responses but I’m afraid I don’t have an answer for you right at the minute.

I have the automatic A$500.00 from my company thereafter I’m relying on the carrier their current offer is A$47.00 at this stage I would at least give us another month and I’m sorry for this but we are trying.

FYI there was no insurance obtained it was the cheapest service I will try my best for you.

I know it took me 2 months of back and forth to get $1000 out of nz post.
Pain in the ass. Surely they should refund you and then them getting money back from carrier is their issue?

Said exactly that 5min ago: Mate it is taking too long. It is $3k scope. If I had an option to insure I wouldve taken it. $547 is no good...rather than keeping me waiting you should sort me out then seek recovery from whoeever else.

You should speak to your contents insurance provider as you might be better of ( easier ) claiming through them and taking the $547au on offer.

What's that whole bit about knowing I shouldn't have taken the job about?

Sorry I wasn't really following the other thread. From what I understand was a warranty claim that had to go back or something???
Where did it end up getting sent to?

Yes correct. I arranged for Freight Forwarder to collect from store and ship to me. Was assured it was on its way , with customs NZ , will have by Fri etc.

Talk to your credit card company (if you paid by cc), You might be able to do a chargeback. It forcefully takes the money back off the vendor, but they're the fools who sent a scope with no insurance.

edit: nevermind, those last few posts weren't there when i wrote that, would only be possible if you'd just bought it new.
