Any thoughts on using one of these on a compact bush gun?
    Around $550 plus $80 for a mount.

two mates use them on pig rifles...from what Ive seen..great to 50 yards...but not 100% convinced they would be ideal in dimlit conditions with obscured target...even a 3-4x scope is only just enough in that senario. but ideal for a quick snap shot that is definate..AND if they covered in water yo ucan still use red dot with both eyes open.... the other eye sees target and BRAIN puts the dot on it.

Yea I’m pretty keen to give it a whirl.
They’re extremely compact which suits what I’m trying to do.

I’ve done the 1-4 thing with good success but want even more compact option.

They are awesome. This one was 70yards. I sighted it in for 200 yards on a 400x400mm white gong. Really easy to centre the dot that way, which is 6.5”/165mm at 200yards. Finished up shooting a 3” group at 200, though a deer at that range would be a bit harder, 100 would be a piece of cake.

Have used Holosun red dot for a few years now. Great for bush hunting although if you have astigmatism they’re not great for fine accuracy at long range. On my AR I used to alternate between 2-7x32 scope and red dot. RD on rainy or gloomy days. Currently use same combo on Bergara 308 take-down rifle.

I loved the red dot on my SKK for close range bush goat shooting. Now I use a gen 2 vortex spitfire prism on my .223, fixed 3X mag with etched and illuminated reticle and the whole thing only sllghtly larger than a bushnell trs25.
