    Most common suppressor thread pitch

So I live in California, where suppressors are the devil's work (and illegal). I'm having a brake installed on my Tikka T3x Superlite in .270, and have a choice of thread adapter in either 5/8" x 24, or 1/2" x 28. Not metric threads, obviously.

I'd like to bring my rifle over there someday, and use it with one of your cans, after removing my brake. I am completely unfamiliar with your typical options, and am wondering if its even a possibility.

Any ideas on if this is possible? Maybe an adapter, if all your sh1t is metric?

    Thanks,
    Dave

Both are readily available here but 1/2"x28 is more common.

I'd say 5/8x24 was more common, we tend to use 1/2x20 rather than 1/2x28, especially since the demise of semi autos.
I would have though 5/8x24 was to big for a Tikka lite barrel profile.

Definitely more metric threads here but you can get a suppressor in and thread you want, so it doesn't really matter.

Use whatever suits you best at home, IF you ever bring it here an adaptor is easily made if you can't find a matching suppressor.

    Appreciate the info.
I'm waiting to hear back from a recommended local gunsmith as to what will fit on the superlite barrel.
It's nice to know that both are available.

I kinda thought all tha stuff over there would be metric, so it's nice to know I have options.

5/8 x 24 won't fit in a lite profile unless chopped down pretty short.

M14x1 is probably the most common thread here for sporter weight barrels, although it's really not that important as here you can just order a suppressor direct from be manufacturer with whatever thread you need.

1/2x28 would be the most popular of those two, but they are both readily available.

Because we import most of our rifles and manufacture most of the suppressors in NZ all the common suppressors are readily available with a range of threads to suit the variety of factory threaded rifles from around the world.
