A wonderful thing happened.
Cos I'm out of action for 12 weeks I gave my 22 Creed to son Craigc to use. He knew it would give me a boost if he got something with it so this evening he took it into the Haurangis.
Tonight an hour before dark I received a sat text "Dad, whats the come up for 650 yards? The chart only goes to 500". I replied after a quick look "9MOA for the 80 ELDX".
Soon after he messaged "I think I just got a buck at 650yds".....then an hour later ..."found it, this fricken gun is amazing".
80grn ELDX double shoulder shot and exit. Went about 15 yards. Fallow buck.
He did that for me.

You might not get it back in a hurry.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.
Gidday Bruce. Pray tell your bored shitless !
Any way what velocity are you getting with those 80g as my new barreled 20inch 22-250 1-8 twist might like those!
It wouldn't stabilize the 88eldm but should the 80s.
I have about 600 73 eldm to use up but can always sell and change to the 80eldx.
Any way get well so you can go terrorism the deer population again!

Amazing gun and an amazing fella. Well done Craigc.
Time filler...
I learnt a bit about the Criterion barrels doing this 22CM.
My Criterion barrel was a 1:7 un-profiled blank and Jaco profiled it back to Bartlen 2b weight, chambered and threaded. Cut to 20" and muzzle thread. Sand blasted.
A slightly cheaper option for me would have been using a Criterion prefit barrel - just screw it on (so long as there was one in 22CM in the country). Jaco says that the chamber cut on them is pretty good.
It seems the pros for the blank barrel were:
No Savage type barrel nut that the prefit uses
The re-profiling ensured concentricity of the bore (while not a major some prefits' bores are not concentric to the outside diameter)
I could get one in 1:7 (which I now dont think matters, 1:8 would have been fine)
I wanted a slightly heavier weight than a standard Tikka barrel - the donor was a Tikka .243 Varmint - I really wanted this rifle to shoot.
The only con to me is that a prefit would have made the job a couple hundred or so dollars cheaper.
Im happy with the outcome. I relied on Jaco's advice and went with it. My approach was going to Jaco with the high level idea and then to follow his advice. No regrets.

Your'e making it extremely hard to resist getting one made. That factory built FN mauser in 250 Savage would be a good donour.
I'm trying to get to heaven before they shut the door.

Do you run these on a short action or would it go better on a medium?
