My custom lone peak and my experience. 260rem

Where to start? In my experience, light rifles and accuracy don’t go hand in hand. I have however a Remington ti in 308 that you could carry all day with out even feeling it (3kg scoped and canned) but accuracy was hard to find, light barrels and big flutes put me on the failing end from the start. This has lead me on the search to build my perfect all round rifle, well what is to me anyway. After thinking of a base platform, I wanted to keep it as light as possible, this is where @camo wsm comes in. Not only can this guy source great actions and barrels, he can get other parts you may need. He is a wealth of knowledge and true to his word. The McMillan hunters edge stock and trigger tech trigger also came into my hands via Cameron. Now I was on the way to building my dream rifle, my idea was to keep the non barrel parts as light as possible but focus more on keeping weight in the barrel where I thought would be the major contributor to the search of best accuracy. Finding someone I would trust to build this rifle was the easy part, Mitch Maxburry is second to non in my experience with others I have used, both with workmanship and turnaround, you couldn’t fault it. He had me a nice Krieger 6.5 1-8.5 twist with my name all over it. With the idea of only being a hunting rifle and accuracy one of the main goals we set the barrel at 22inchs and he whipped up a custom contour that would suit my needs well. My one bullet I preferred to use was the 143 eldx and from my old rifles I knew this to work very well both for accuracy and killing abilities. Mitch spent just over a week turning all the parts into a functional rifle and to tell you I was happy was an understatement. Load development would have to be the fun part but time consuming, in the end all charge weights I have tested to date have been extremely accurate, now with the 143 holding under 1/2 Moa most of the time and cruising well at 2960fps with out any signs of problems. I think this will have to be a big thumbs up. So really a big thanks to Cameron for his help and knowledge and Mitch for doing probably the best rifle work I have seen on any of my rifles, he would have to be one of the best out there. Cheers guys. I owe you. Name: B8F5876F-EE24-4D50-8700-B27721A586AE.jpeg

    Have I read this wrong?
You have a standard 260 rem @2960fps with 143 weight projectiles out of a 22" barrel? Even with a throat modification that is extreme.

Crony I had with the old finnlight was just a f1 but now run a magnetospeed v3 barrel life shouldn’t be a problem really as it’s only for hunting @Sidney I can send you my crony to try if you like.

Wow,, looks real nice Dale!! take it your bottom meat is a floorplate??

What is your internal magazine length measurement??? Obviously no problems seating 143gr out to fit mag.....

Looking at doing a similar 6.5 build myself later on this year, most probably 6.5creedmore/260rem.
