Bit of feedback on the reloading side. If you are using a custom barrel chambered with a AW or Manson reamer and using ADG brass it is best to use the 1inch Reeding FL die or the (pricey) ADG Fat Boy 1-1/4. I cracked two Hornady FL die and there has been other occurrences that can be found online.

If you have a factory 7PRC then most likely the reamer used is at SAMi spec (Tikka are) and you will be probably fine with Hornady die.

Never ever had this issue with other rifle/Hornady dies, even using ADG brass like on my 300wsm where there is even less meat left on the die. I think those custom reamer they came up with to solve clicker are not helping with sizing.
Other than that stoked with the 7PRC…

Can you explain how this occurs. Fascinated. Did you load up the case in the die and it went ...crack? Was the chamber too tight?

on both I realised it happened after while cleaning the die. no noise. How it occurs is explained in my previous post. Chambers cut with AW or manson reamer with the extra diameter at the base compared to SAMI+ADG brass which is stiffer than other brass. Case expand to chamber dimension and is really hard on the die at the base

I haven't had it happen with the PRC cases yet, but never say never

Ironic that the whole reason for the bigger base (AW) reamer is because of the ADG brass & the primary extraction "clickers" it produces with a SAAMI spec reamer & dies......

I have recently split a 22-250 FL die which has plenty of material around it which really suggests a hardening or metal flaw, PPU brass & Tikka chamber

yep and it lead ADG to launch their fatboy dies. Cortina has also an expander mandrel that resize the base of the case at the same time for the 7prc. If I had to do it again I would go for a SAAMI reamer.

So are folks sticking with 180grainers or is 162 still the sweet spot for velocity and BC?

I haven't loaded for mine yet and am agonizing between 165 cx and 180 eldm's
Both will do what I need out to way further than I need.

It's the same reason that reamer dimensions were changed for the 7 PRCW ( 7-6.5 PRCW) which is a popular F Open cartridge. The original reamers were .532 at the .200 line and it was damn near inevitable that you'd end up with clickers. The current reamers are now .535 and I've never had a clicker in mine. As you'd expect, the resizing force is greater because of this.
