G'day,
After about 10 years my binos have packed it in. Long story short I dropped them onto stone and they are now a blur. Leica said they may be able to fix them but it was something like 6 month turn around and $800...if they could fix them.
It was initially a buy once, cry once thing. Evidently it become a buy once, cry, break them and then cry again scenario.
Anyway after years of using them and hunting with muzzleloaders I'm out of the loop with what's going on with optics these days.
I had Leica Geovid HD R 10x42, looking at Leica's website they now have half a dozen different models.
Any suggestion on what's comparable to the HD R's, it seems they no longer make the model I had?
Not opposed to changing brands but I have always like my Leica's.
Keen to stick with 10x42's and definitely rangefinding optics. I won't go to a lower quality binocular, and would begrudgingly go higher if i had to but keeping to around the same quality and price is my preference. I do a fair bit of hunting in the first and last light type stuff so quality good enough for that is a necessity.
cheers.
