Thread: New Generation Bipods

Hey guys

I have been using harris bipods for a long time now and my old work horse its looking worse for wear

Looking to upgrade but not sure what too, use it for sighting in, Hunting and gongs so need an all rounder

Need something that i can use on multiple rifles with out having to attach something into the stock for the different ones.

Whats my best option?

If your budget conscious I would just get another Harris. I’m using a basic notched leg one and every time I consider getting something flasher I can never find a good enough reason to justify the huge cost just to go lighter when I love everything else about the Harris. Mine isn’t even the swivel model, just fixed and I adjust the legs to get rifle level. Never caused me an issue and it shoots damn good too. Love it. But hey if the budget isn’t an issue then by all means I would have a play with the flash stuff!

Yes. The extra mounting brackets are too expensive though.

Yes some would think so but I think it’s a great product all the same and have 2 extra brackets now

No more than the flush cups for the javelin, I like the simplicity of the backlanz adapter and the fact the legs pivot but I don't like the fact that there is quite a bit of play between the bipod and the mount.
I use a javelin personally, they are not perfect and have there pros and cons but as far as a lightweight bipod system goes the pros certainly outweigh the cons, considering the op isn't willing to fit attachments to his stock a bit of a moot point.
If you want to stick with something you can fit to multiple rifles without adapters stick with one of the offerings from harris they are tried and tested proven to be good at what they do

Don't they require mounting a bracket to the stock? or dose it attach to the sling stud?

Attaches via removing the sling stud and using the one supplied

Not to hijack this thread, but I have a related question. Have a Browning Maral that has fancy pants removable sling studs, they are a push fit into a female sockets in the stock. Great for attaching sling mounts but nothing for attaching bipod. Any one know if there’s any adapters that might work for attaching a bipod? I’ll take a pic and post later

This guy is budget unconscious.......(Whats a budget)?
