    If he's after a cannon (30 cal magnum) then I'd definitely check out the 300WSM's as well, and plenty of lower cost options than Sako 85. I have several older Sako's myself - damn fine rifles, but I dont think the 85 today gives enough "superior performance" to match the price tag. But each to their own.
