    Why??
Because I can and I wanted to
Its mint, and that last 100 Mausers I've seen have been pieces of shit or semi shit and worth a fortune, hence why I have little interest in them

I like old guns that I can shoot, my oldest is 96 and was shot the w/e before I went to work
Have a few around early 1940s from all over the place and hope to get more now I have more storage room

Think it'll look better once a saw and rasp are taken to that stock. Hacksaw off a dose of the barrel and get rid of those open sights and you'll have something. I too can see the potential there Spanners. That much timber makes me want to light a fire.

Now, where is the "tongue in cheek" smiley. Certainly looks in amazing nick, and one of these days, ... would look good added to my humble collection of firearms.

    Excellent.

You must have a big safe, do you shoot them? or just collect?

Yeah the safes getting a bit full now. Out of the .303's the No4 MkI* gets maybe a 200 rounds through it a year at service rifle comps the others are mainly just for the collection although they get the odd outing now and again. The .22LR No. 9 (far right) allows cheap practice.

I also saw some 30 shot mags for an aug in the army shop in bulls as I was passing thru a couple of years back. they were $30 each.
but I didnt think anyone would pay the 8k they were going for at the time while ar15 were 3-4k

I brought the AUG-Z in myself a couple of years back so didn't pay even half (and that was including the cost of a munted SKS as a hand in) of what GC was wanting for one.
