Looking for my last rifle and scope combination and because nightforce is too expensive to purchase in nz I will buy one in Australia.
The Shv range meets my maximum budget of 2k.
Any experience with them appreciated

I use the 3-9 on my work gun. It has taken a hiding and in the last 18 months have only re-zeroed once. Glass quality isn’t the best but it’s a workhorse that can take the abuse I give it, I have no issues recommending it
Thanks
Looking for a 5-25 for my 63 year old eyes
Good news for people who were thinking going to aussie they are now the same price as aussie once you add the 5% extra gst snd 10% exchange rate.
The 5x20x56 shv is full retail under $2100 in nz now.
Send me a pm for dealers!

I’ve got a spare nxs 5.5-22x50 I could sell you for around that $2k mark if you’re interested?
Kind offer Misalot
Heart set on a new one.
Have a brother living in aussie so he can always bring one over if necessary.
The thread question was more about quality and how people rate them.
Leupold vx5 are stupid money now and although swaro z5 and z6 have wonderful glass I am too scared to even fart near them as they damage easily.
No worries,
Re the quality - I’ve used both my nxs and also a 4-14 shv.
Both fantastic scopes - biggest win over any other scopes is the reticle, I found them great for a quick adjustment if you were able to spot your first shot to be able to get your second on target. Glass was good but not great and was the reason I have gone for one of the new 30mm swaro Z5s.
Dialling was always perfect, and they are damn near bomb proof. I had a dicky sling on my rifle that meant it was dropped on more than once occasion and never had issues with holding zero.
Downsides are they are big and heavy but not horribly so.
Probly don't even have to fart . . . I'm a recent convert to NF after a Ziess and Leupold Vx 3 both recently failed to hold zero, and there have been Swaro Z5 and VX5s in the past, long since sold as they didn't perform to my expectation. The 3-10×42 SHV has only been out on the hill once so hardly a long-term test. However after several weeks of use I can say the glass is actually very good, better I think than anything around the same money with the possible exception of Sightron S11s Big Sky and S111s. So far I'm very pleased with the NF 3-10s performance, was on the range very briefly this arvo to re-zero after a rings upgrade and it dialed exactly. It's a keeper.
No point getting one in aussie as now the same price in nz nearly to the dollar.
The only thing a vx5 has over an shv 5x20 is size.
But then with bigger objective better light gathering.
No free lunch.
No comparison with anything in that price bracket for rugged reliable repeatable!

Have thought about the problems with importing hence my brother bringing one with him
Prefer to buy local if only a couple of hundred in it.
Scope supplier needs to make some coin.
Thanks for everyone's helpful comments
