The NF glass and scopes are made by L.O.W. in Japan, But assembled and tested in the US by NF. The Deltas are made in the same place but with even better glass ( in the strykers ) and assembled in Japan. Better scope for half the money out of the same factory ...

The Delta glass is no better than an ATACR but better than that in an NXS IMO. The 5-50 Stryker has a very critical eye relief in the higher powers.

I dont know if all high mag scopes would be the same as that re eye relief. To be honest the only one that I have ever used was a PM2 that had x36 max power and it was a disappointment for it's image

No, my NXSs have far more forgiving eye relief at 32X. All three that looked through the Delta immediately noticed the issue

This is why the 2020 edition - Delta Stryker 4.5-30x56 is now #1 choice over the older 5-50

The 4.5-30 is an FFP though so most traditional range shooters won't want that.

What are those Mark 5HD's like compared to the NXS/NX8? Don't you have one @mikee ?

I know @gimp had a mk6 that he had some issues with but aren't the Mark 5HD scopes supposed to be a lot better?

My Mark 5 has way way better glass then the NSX 5.5-22 I had, ita also Mil's which I find easier. My VX6 HD also had better glass, in my opinion, than the NSX.
NXS was heavier, I would say tougher all round.
Mk5 is on the 300NM now Saum has the VX6HD and the TCU is scopeless (Sold the NSX to a mate.)

With optics there is no free lunch, end of story.
The nx8's and the atacr's have the same quality of glass which is next level above the nxs.
Tried the rest and keeping to the best!

If you compare prices in the states to here on NF and then look to Aus it’s simple to see where the gouging is occurring.

When you can get a ZCO for the same price as a 4-16 ATACR I know what I’ll be buying.

NZ is seriously gouged on NF. Our USA wholesale price on these is ridiculous compared to the retail markup here. We just aren’t allowed to import them. But this is pretty much standard for how NZ is monopolised on many popular brands. I need to put together a post on this and how local monopolies In a global market are now irrelevant... and also illegal.

@55six could you potentially approach Nighforce directly and explain what is going on in NZ with the pricing and offer yourself as a second agent...or even try to get the rights to NF in NZ for yourself?

Nightforce would sell a lot more scopes over here if they weren't so overpriced, which I'm sure NF would prefer to their local agent price gouging and resulting in less units sold but at high profit for the local agent.

I seem to recall the Sightron glass is made in the same factory in Japan.
