Their first ones that I recollect were like that. My very first scope was a Nikko Stirling Tiara with the integral rail/clamp. 4x15 or something like that. IIRC it was either a 3/4" or 7/8" tube and the field of view was like looking thru a length of 1/2" water pipe. On my first 22 it accounted for hundreds of rabbits.

I still have a 4x28 Tiara sitting unloved in a drawer. It too has the integral rail/clamp. Still nice and clear but like the earlier Tiaras a very narrow FOV.

(mountmaster) , just took a 4x40 of a norinco as not quite enough fov or clear enough for rabbitts in long dry grass but drilled many a possum out to 75 mts at night as the light helped to centre scope on target .

Yes, I have the Diamond. Ok for what it is, quite heavy, a bit of fish eye at low magnification. Illumination ok but not daylight bright. The adjustments are now all over the show, once it's zeroed it's OK, but a prick to get there. Suspect it didn't like full noise 45-70 loads haha. It may be ok for a low recoil cartridge or centrefire.

Long story short would I buy again, no.

Everyone has their own idea on what is a good scope or bad scope . But we cant all drop 2-3000 dollars on a flash scope so we make do with what can afford

bought a 2.5-10 metor for my 308 but finding the eye relief a bit short. other than that the scope is rather good for the money.

6-24x50 Illum HF user here, used it mainly for plinking, target shooting in the farm,
its abit heavy and over power for what its intended,
its holding up pretty good and cant complain since it was $500 new.

Got a Panamax 3-9x40 HMD scope on my 223. Came as package deal. Use the combo up to 4 days a week mostly goat culling. I don’t pamper my rifles, some call me a rough cnut with them at times. Haven’t had a problem with it yet after 6 years. I dial with it occasionally and do range shooting with it. It is perfectly useable out to 600 yards. When/if it does pack up I’d be happy to replace with same. Had a Gold Crown 4x40 on my 308 for years. Was a great scope until the reticle broke it that happened with many brands back in the day. Like other’s I’m happy with mine. A nice basic scope that I’m not going to shed a tear over if it packs up. I’ve had/still have/used high end scopes so know what both ends of the spectrum are like. Just my 2c.

If I won a top of the line Nikko Stirling scope and ford ranger ute.... I would sell one immediately and put the other on a rifle. I love my Leupolds but had great run with Nikko Stirling's years back when on tight budget.

I had a octa for a few years couldn’t fault it, I like the look of the new diamond line and appear to be great value for money.
